Intrigued by the mysteries of wood, steel, rubber, or glass? Come and discover how sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing enable us to understand the physical and chemical properties of materials.

Let's go on a sensory journey to discover materials!

Meet the professors and researchers from the LAMPA laboratory atthe Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers atthe science villageon the weekend of October 6 and 7, 2018, as part of the 28th edition of theFête de la Science!

The objects that surround us in our daily lives are made of different materials. Each of them has characteristics that suit our needs: high mechanical strength for steel, high elastic deformation for rubber, or strong thermal insulation for certain ceramics. Humanity's technological development is largely the result of our understanding and manipulation of materials.

The teaching and research staff at the Arts et Métiers campus in Angers will offer fun activities, accessible to all, to share the techniques used by researchers to identify the physical and chemical characteristics of materials through amazing experiences involving each of the five senses.
