Philippe Bihioux, an engineer specializing in the finite nature of mining resources, presents a debate on green growth or low-tech solutions in the face of metal scarcity.

The Association of Apprentice Engineers of Arts & Métiers invites you to the Grand Amphi on Wednesday, April 19, for a conference entitled "Facing metal scarcity: green growth or low-tech?" led by Philippe Bihouix, an engineer from École Centrale Paris

Whether you are a student, researcher, professional, or simply curious, you are invited to join Philippe Bihouix in discussing the problems associated with the finite nature of our mineral resources and the various possible solutions to these issues.

A frequent guest on contemporary media outlets (Libération, Ce soir ou jamais, RMC, France 5, etc.), he is co-author of the book Quel futur pour les métaux ? (EDP Sciences, 2010), which dealswith the finite nature of mineral resourcesand their close interaction with the energy issue, and sets out the technical and societal limits of recycling, the circular economy, and green growth. In 2014, he published " L'âge des low tech, vers une civilisation techniquement soutenable " (The Age of Low Tech: Towards a Technically Sustainable Civilization ) with Éditions du Seuil in the Anthropocène collection.
