Currently a professor atthe Higher Institute of Automotive and Transportation (ISAT) atthe University of Burgundy in Nevers, Stéphane Fontaine has been appointed director of the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Metz by Laurent Champaney, the institution's managing director.
Stéphane Fontaine clearly states his vision for the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Metz : " Drawing on the recognized expertise of the administrative, technical, teaching, and research teams, my ambition is to continue the international and industrial development of the Metz campus. In line with the higher education structures in Lorraine, our research entities, and the VULCAIN platform, collaborations with Germany will be at the heart of my project, which will expand to give our campus a strong European dimension. The development of industrial chairs will be fully integrated into this dynamic. This is in line with the creation of the Franco-German Institute for the Industry of the Future, with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), which will be inaugurated next October. He also emphasizes the importance of a work environment that supports everyone's professional goals: " My actions will enable everyone to benefit from an environment conducive to their professional projects. Furthermore, the complementarities between research, training, industry, and international development will be central to the project we will carry out to serve students and their future professional integration. "
Stéphane Fontaine will join the Metz campus on September 1, 2017, and will take up his duties on October 1, 2017, following a handover period led by his predecessor.
