A look back at the winners of the 2025 Mayoux-Dauriac Prize at the Arts et Métiers campuses.
THE MAYOUX-DAURIAC PRIZE: AN AWARD FOR MASTERY OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE
Created in accordance with the last will and testament of Maurice Mayoux, an Arts et Métiers engineer Arts et Métiers Cluny class of 1920) and his wife Jeanne Dauriac, the Mayoux Prize rewards mastery of the French language.
This prize, worth €1,000, is intended for students in the Grande École Program in their second year at each of the eight Arts et Métiers campuses Arts et Métiers is organized by the campus representatives of the Société des Ingénieurs Arts et Métiers SOCE).
With one prize per Arts et Métiers campus, it recognizes the student who, in both written and oral work, and in terms of both form and content, uses the French language with the greatest eloquence, finesse, and meaning.
THE WINNERS OF THE 2025 MAYOUX PRIZE
Aix-en-Provence Campus

- Winner's name: Ulysse DEGREMONT
On the Aix-en-Provence campus, the winner stood out with a cover letter about his relationship with the French language, its importance in our culture, and his motivations for entering the competition, as well as a 5- to 10-page essay based on a quote by Paul Cézanne: "Those who have no taste for the absolute are content with quiet mediocrity."

Angers Campus

- Winner's name: Klervi RINGEVAL
On the Angers campus, there were many high-quality entries, but the winner stood out thanks to the quality of her writing, her oral fluency, and her literary references. She also managed to immerse the jury in her memories, a mixture of colors, smells, and sensations, thanks to her poetic metaphors.

Bordeaux-Talence Campus

- Winner's name: Sofia TAHIRI
The jury was captivated by her poetic and sophisticated writing, which conveys genuine emotion. Through a variety of elements (poetry, prose, slam poetry set to music, etc.), she also demonstrated her sense of humor.

Châlons-en-Champagne campus

Written: "The introduction of AI into industry raises important ethical questions, particularly in terms of employment and responsibilities." - Jean-Noël Jeanneney
Oral: "Effective governance relies on a strict separation of powers and complete transparency to prevent abuses of power and ensure political stability." - Edgar Morin.

Cluny Campus

On the Cluny campus, two candidates were in the running this year. The jury praised the quality of the projects presented.

Lille campus

Metz Campus

On the Metz campus, each candidate submitted a written application and gave an oral presentation. The jury consisted of three Arts et Métiers staff members Arts et Métiers a former student of the institution.
The winner was chosen for the quality of her written application and her very personal and touching reading of a text she had written.
