Emmanuelle Chavanne was appointed ELF correspondent for the Bordeaux-Talence campus in 2022, a role she has fulfilled by involving students and staff in the project. She has also been part of the ELF accelerator since 2023.
According to Emmanuelle Chavanne,Evolutive Learning Factory new meaning to the institution's projects: "It provides a framework and identity for our training programs. It is a source of meaning and therefore motivation for staff and students."
She emphasizes a professional approach, which is also an essential component of the ELF project: "When people ask me to define ELF, I always come back to its objectives: it's an institutional project that aims to modernize our campuses' technological platforms, develop an open-minded teaching approach so that our students can envision their future careers in industry, and support all staff members as we navigate the transitions we are currently experiencing."
ELF coloring in connection with the campus environment
The ambition of the Bordeaux-Talence campus was defined by taking into account the specific characteristics of its position withinArts et Métiers within the academic and industrial environment of Bordeaux. The campus is at the heart of a Bordeaux Engineering Hub led by a major university and several engineering schools. The I2M laboratory is the only mechanics laboratory in Bordeaux with five supervisory bodies, including Arts et Métiers.
The focus of the ELF project on the Bordeaux campus is on the life cycle of a product. It draws on various technological platforms used for teaching, research, and transfer, which reinforces the campus's distinctive and clearly identified position in this dense environment.
This focus was obvious to all stakeholders in the ELF Bordeaux project: "In addition to the need to differentiate ourselves from other institutions in the ecosystem, this focus stems from the pre-existence of platforms on campus, the strong research themes of our teacher-researchers, and the needs of regional industrial partners."
Strong student involvement
Emmanuelle Chavanne is very confident about the future of ELF Bordeaux thanks to the strong involvement of the students, who are the main stakeholders in the project: "The dynamic on the Bordeaux campus is good. This year, we have ELF representatives among the second-year PGE students, which shows their motivation and desire to participate in this major project. They are also heavily involved in redesigning the first-year students' orientation week. The projects launched during the PPI (Multi-Year Investment Plan) are currently being set up, and I feel that, in the eyes of the staff, the ELF project is beginning to take shape."
