Facilitating entrepreneurship at the Chambéry institute

Support for business creation has been offered to students at the Chambéry institute for three years. Anne-Laure Bulliffon explains how this helped her in her entrepreneurial venture.

Anne-Laure graduated with a Specialized Master's Degree® in Change Management and Sustainable Innovation(MS MCID) at the end of 2020. She benefited from this program last year and has just started her own business, Albumine, an engineering and consulting firm specializing in helping companies choose packaging that is appropriate and consistent with their brand and environmental impact.

A factor that influenced the choice of this particular training program

Before joining the MS MCID program, Anne-Laure attended the open house organized by the institute. She learned about the possibility of receiving support for students pursuing entrepreneurial ventures in collaboration with the student incubator located just a stone's throw away, on the same technology park. However, this packaging engineer with 15 years of experience wanted to set up a design office to help SMEs in the food and cosmetics sectors accelerate the ecological transition of their products. That is why she was looking for a course in sustainable innovation... and why she chose the one in Chambéry.


The fact thatthis support existed this support was a factor in choosing this training program because I was seriously considering another one that did not offer this advantage.

Clarify your ideas, set milestones

From the start of the school year, she has regular meetings with a teacher from the institute who helps her clarify her ideas, set milestones, define a value proposition, and develop a concrete service offering—the heart of the project!


IIt really helped me, with targeted support targeted, to refocus my actions on my value proposition because I was in a whirlwind of ideas. It allowed me to move forward more quickly.


Towards the end of the course, Anne-Laure joined the incubator's "start business" program, which provides support and training in entrepreneurship and business development. This program proved particularly fruitful as it echoed the discussions she had had during her mentoring period.
For her six-month end-of-training internship, she joined the student incubator and moved forward with her project, which she will present during her professional thesis defense in September.
Anne-Laure officially created Albumine in January 2021 within the Savoie Technolac , which allows her to continue to benefit from the support services of the entrepreneurship center for two years as a young company. She continues to exchange ideas with the teacher/mentor on an informal basis and has spoken to the institute's students this year about her experience. She will do so again next year.  

Individualized assistance and joint classes for the MS MCID

This individualized approach is led by a teacher who is also responsible for  CLENAM for Savoie, Club Entrepreneurs des Arts et Métiers, a service of the Société des Ingénieurs, which draws on an extensive network of contacts thanks to its alumni.
This approach offers around 15 hours of support to project leaders. It is tailored to the type of project and its stage of development. Particular attention is paid to ensuring that the project is a good fit for the profile of the student entrepreneur(s). Students can also be referred to relevant contacts.
In addition, it provides four hours of classes on business creation to MS MCID students. It covers the development of a business plan: which business model (value propositions, customer segments, distribution channels, etc.), which legal status, the partnership agreement, tax and asset aspects, marketing and commercial research, monitoring the competition, financial forecasts, and investment opportunities for financiers.
