The third workshop of the AM² transatlantic partnership, jointly led by Texas A&M Engineering (TEES) and Arts et Métiers, was held at Texas A&M University Campus from October 16 to 18, 2019, in the presence of Alexis Andres, Consul General of France in Houston. The workshop brought together partners from the AM² partnership industry, several members of the academic community, the scientific advisor to the French Consulate in Houston, and the leaders of the AM² partnership initiative from TEES and Arts et Métiers.

The workshop built on the extensive research collaborations, training programs, and faculty and student exchange initiatives currently underway between TEES and Arts et Métiers, following the signing of the partnership agreement in November 2017.

This third workshop focused on developing an AM² consortium focused on Industry 4.0—AI and Data Science for Smart Manufacturing—in order to strengthen this transatlantic partnership. In particular, the AM² consortium's vision for Industry 4.0 was presented, with the creation of a roadmap and business models for its development.

The first workshop was held in College Station, Texas, to launch the partnership focused on research and development and industry training needs in smart manufacturing. The second workshop, held in Aix-en-Provence earlier this year with more than 20 industry leaders in attendance, focused on the industry's contribution as a partner in theArts et Métiers initiative, with an emphasis on AI and data science for smart manufacturing and the industry of the future.
