Starting in the fall of 2023, Arts et Métiers partnership withISTP, will offer an engineering program specializing in Mechanics and Mechatronics.
" Arts et Métiers ISTP share the ambition to better meet the industry's needs for skills and innovation," explains Nadège Troussier, Deputy Director of Training. The two institutions also share the same approach to training and applied research, which benefits companies by helping them develop their skills. This partnership with ISTP is therefore perfectly aligned withArts et Métiers strategic prioritiesArts et Métiers its operational objectives of training more young people and providing better support to industry."
Support from the region
The new presenceArts et Métiers the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region also reflects the institution's desire to play an active role in regional development policies in the fields of training, employment, and innovation. The merger between ISTP andArts et Métiers encouraged by the regional president and welcomed by all socio-economic stakeholders.
A program accredited by the CTI
Since signing the partnership agreement in April 2022, the teaching teams at both institutions have been working to set up a work-study program for specialized engineers in mechanics and mechatronics, leading to an Arts et Métiers degree. This program received a positive opinion from the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieurs (CTI) for accreditation in April 2023.
The aim is to train high-level executives capable of managing complex projects focused on the design and eco-design of mechanical and mechatronic products and equipment: robots, exoskeletons, ABS or car trajectory control systems, electronically controlled pumps, automated assembly machines, etc.
In the context of Industry 4.0
The Mechanical and Mechatronics specialization combines knowledge of mechanics, electronics, automation, and computer science to design and industrialize complex products or equipment that meet the needs of all industrial sectors: transportation, healthcare, agri-food, energy, etc. It is fully in line with the Industry 4.0 perspective.
Opening in fall 2023
The program is open to holders of a BUT, DUT, BTS, general or professional bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field, or a L3, as well as students from a scientific or technological CPGE. Admission is based on application and interview.
This new program will be available starting in the 2023 academic year (to apply).
It should be noted thatArts et Métiers alsoArts et Métiers a partnership agreement in 2023 with ESTACA, a post-baccalaureate engineering school specializing in transportation and sustainable mobility. This partnership provides for the integration of ESTACA students into the Master's program in Interactive 3D Technology Management (MTI3D) atthe Arts et Métiers institute Arts et Métiers Laval.
About ISTP
TheISTP, a leader in work-study engineering programs, aims to contribute to the competitiveness of companies by developing individual and collective skills, particularly through salaried engineering training (continuing education and apprenticeship training).
The institute is located in Saint-Étienne on the Industrial Campus, a site selected for the Plan d'Investissements d'Avenir (Investment Plan for the Future). ISTP trains engineering students from Mines Saint-Étienne through apprenticeships and continuing education in four specializations: Industrial Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Energy Recovery, and Embedded Electronic Systems. The institute also offers two types of general engineering science degrees from CNAM Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
