Rémy Marchal and the Wood Team welcomed eight architecture students in Master of Science and second years of Master of Science , along with their instructors, from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris La Villette (ENSAPLV).

They were the guinea pigs for an experimental course module entitled "Intensive wood: the tree that reveals the forest." During this week-long immersion program, students were introduced to forestry in the Cluny national forest with the ONF and to machine manufacturing in the wood workshop. They participated in practical classes introducing them to the anatomy, physics, and mechanics of wood, as well as lectures given by teachers from HESAM and ENSAPLV. Finally, an architect from Cluny offered them a design session and tours of wooden buildings. Three evening debates punctuated the week with screenings of the films "Le temps des forêts" by François-Xavier Drouet (2018) and "Nul homme n'est une île" by Dominique Marchais (2017).

The CCIC has included the conference "Cooperative housing: where are we now?" with Pete Kirkham, co-chair of Habicoop Fédération Française des Coopératives d'Habitants (French Federation of Residents' Cooperatives) in its 2019-2020 conference cycle program.

This pilot week is part of the feasibility study for a HESAM Bachelor's degree in "Bio-based Materials" led by ENSAPLV and Arts et Métiers , with the first intake planned for September 2021.
