The Chal’EngeAM 2026 Challenge brought together students from the MTI3D Master's program at the Institut Arts et Métiers Chalon-sur-Saône, the Cnam Bourgogne Franche-Comté, and the EGC Centre-Est, alongside local companies. The latter challenged the students on real business needs. Over a two-week period, the teams developed virtual reality and artificial intelligence demonstrators.

A challenge to bring training and business closer together

The Chal’EngeAM Challenge has several objectives: to strengthen ties between academia and industry, to prepare for emerging technological uses, to support the innovation efforts of regional companies, and to promote the emergence of new economic opportunities.
The projects presented were evaluated in different categories: virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

Immersia: "Economic Opportunity" award in virtual reality

The Immersia project, carried out with the company Nextis, was recognized in the "Economic Opportunity" category in virtual reality. This industrial training application reproduces all the operations required to manufacture the water bottles produced for Decathlon, some of which can take more than 35 hours and involve a risk of error.

An application designed for operator training

Developed by Pedro Rafael Chacón Acuña, Titouan Brachet, Miguel Angel Salinas Bayona, Warrick Dupont, and Solenne Gaudillat, and supported by Benoit Lafin (Nextis), the project offers an immersive tool to facilitate learning during changes in manufacturing ranges.

We collaborated with Nextis to create an industrial training application for operators, a project firmly rooted in the realities of the industrial sector, says Pedro.

Kairoscope: "Innovation" award in artificial intelligence

The artificial intelligence category highlighted several solutions, including Kairoscope, which won the "AI Innovation" award. This project was designed in collaboration with the Hôtel du Centre in Meursault.

A predictive tool for restaurant traffic

Kairoscope combines historical traffic data with weak signals from OSINT to anticipate changes in activity linked to local events. The team, made up of Maxime Boudier, Arthur Cieslar, Mahe Joninon, and Julie Demetriadis, designed a complete environment and a functional solution that went live in just two weeks.

This project involved leading a team to create a concrete artificial intelligence solution in just fourteen days. The work consisted of building a secure environment and an operational application. This Artificial Intelligence Innovation Award highlights this approach.

An overview of twelve projects addressing specific issues

The 12th edition of the Chal’EngeAM Challenge saw the presentation of twelve projects based on real-life situations, with partner companies.
