Following theArts et Métiers Team's resounding success atthe Enedis Ev Challenge in June 2025, motorsports will once again take center stage this year with the launch of the Ridz' project. Students at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Cluny will build a bike to compete in an enduro mountain bike race in July 2026.
A collective project combining education, technology, and teamwork. The seven students involved in the project have less than ten months to complete it.
A student project at the heart of the educational program
This project is part of both the Grande École Program curriculum and a community initiative. As a result, the student team was able to benefit from the assistance of teachers and technicians from the High-Speed Machining teaching teams in order to meet the educational and technical challenges specific to the competition.
The race specifications are complex.
Within the group,we divided up the tasks to be carried out based on the experience and skills of the supervisors, emphasizes Clément Pavani. As a result, some groups are working on design, sizing, and topological optimization, while others are focusing on finding sponsors.
This organization ensures that the project runs smoothly in all its aspects.
Organization and management of teamwork
The team works independently for one full day every two weeks. Students become familiar with project management tools such as brainstorming, mind mapping, and Gantt charts. Organizing the work is just as important as the work itself.
"We work during and outside school hours to ensure continuity and optimize our work," says Ethan Galliou.
Towards a technical and human experience in competition
This project goes beyond a simple academic exercise and is a human experience. Students develop skills in teamwork, collective decision-making, managing the unexpected, and promoting their achievements to external partners. It is a multidisciplinary and professionalizing initiative that effectively prepares students for the demands of the industrial sector.

SR SUNTOUR, MAVIC, ALLTRICKS, and TECH BIKE 71 have already signed up to the project. The students hope to expand their sponsorship base with the addition of standard components, raw materials, or funding.
About enduro mountain biking
A versatile discipline that combines efficient climbs and fast descents. It is practiced on technical trails, with natural obstacles such as roots, rocks, jumps, and steep slopes. It is therefore a challenging and demanding sport for both the rider and their bike.
