ParolesArts et Métiers back with a new episode: Focus on entrance exams and student recruitment at Arts et Métiers, interview with Xavier Dufresne

Background 

In ParolesArts et Métiers, we talk about industry, innovation, transitions, health, materials, new technologies, and many other topics related to engineering sciences and Arts et Métiers. Everyone in the Arts et Métiers community—students, staff, and alumni—is involved in the adventure. In each episode, designed and hosted by Carole Wahnoun, a research engineer on the Paris campus, with technical support from Jean-Marc Rousseau, Multimedia Designer and Producer at ICIFTech, one or more guests take the time to discuss an important topic related to Arts et Métiers.

This podcast will discuss the different types of student recruitment at Arts et Métiers, whether through the Grande Ecole Program entrance exams or through apprenticeships. Xavier Dufresne, Director of Entrance Exams and Recruitment at the Deputy General Management in charge ofArts et Métiers Training, will share his advice and experience in this area.

Bibliography of Xavier Dufresne

Xavier Dufresne is an Arts et Métiers engineer (Bo89) and was a student representative at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Bordeaux. He then joined the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) Paris-Saclay (formerly Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan) where he obtained his agrégation in mechanics before returning to Arts et Métiers obtain a Master's degree in Biological and Medical Engineering, with a specialization in Biomechanics.
Xavier Dufresne began his professional career as a teacher in the Mechanical and Production Engineering department at the IUT in Saint-Quentin. He then joined the ISAE in Toulouse, where he spent almost fifteen years as Head of the Mechanical Engineering training unit and then Deputy Director of Training.
In 2012, Xavier Dufresne joined Arts Métiers as Director of Initial Training, a position he held for ten years and in which he oversaw new training programs, notably the Bachelor's degree in Science and Engineering, launched in 2014, as well as new specialized engineering apprenticeship programs.
In 2022, he was appointed Director of Competitions and Recruitment in the Deputy General Management in charge ofArts et Métiers Training.
