In her final year of the Specialized Engineering Program in Industrial Equipment Design and Operation, Reda Bentahir completed her training with a dual degree in engineering and management fromIAE FRANCE. This program is open to all engineering students on the Metz campus, PGE and PIS.

A career change to engineering

Before joining Arts et Métiers, Reda worked as a design office technician in interior design. His early career was far removed from industry, which did not appeal to him at the time. In 2017, however, he found himself working as an operator in a factory. This experience sparked a real vocation. He began retraining: BTS, Bachelor's degree, then admissionArts et Métiers the Specialized Engineering Program on the Metz campus in September 2022.

A future engineer with an entrepreneurial streak

During his engineering apprenticeship, Reda honed his technical and technological skills, as well as his management expertise:"At Arts et Métiers are trained in strategic management, but I wanted to go further. The accounting, investment, and business plan courses confirmed my interest in this dual degree. I've always had a penchant for entrepreneurship."

In his second year, he participated in and won the Bpi competition "24 Hours to Create" and obtained national student entrepreneur status. On the advice of his peers, in his third year, he and a dozen of his classmates enrolled in the dual engineering-management degree program offered in the final year to all engineering students on the Metz campus.

Dual degree in engineering and management: a career booster

A few days before starting his final year, Reda begins his engineering management program: "After the orientation seminar, we alternate between online learning, Teams meetings, and evening classes. Assignments are based on real-life cases. Learning is largely based on feedback."

Aware that his status as an engineer may lead him to become the manager of an industrial site, Reda is learning how to read and interpret a company balance sheet and how to develop and implement a marketing strategy. This knowledge is essential for understanding the economic and financial challenges facing a company.

It's not just another degree, he explains, it's a career accelerator. This dual degree allows you to take on responsibilities more quickly.

Engineering students attracted by the acquisition of strategic skills

This year, thirty-three Arts et Métiers engineering students Arts et Métiers the Grande École Program and Specialized Engineering Program have joined this dual degree program.

As for Reda Bentahir, he has completed his studies and is looking for a job in a company: " I have acquired the knowledge, now I just need to put it into practice. But in the medium term, I am aiming to take over or start a business.
