Two new branches joined AMJE Paris at the end of 2023. An update on the activities of theArts et Métiers Junior EnterpriseArts et Métiers Yoann Marigliano, president of AMJE Paris, and Samuel Cohen, communications manager.
What are the highlights of the first half of your term?
This is the merger with the AMJE in Châlons-en-Champagne in October and Aix-en-Provence in November. Two mergers in one semester is huge!
AMJE Paris now has five branches: Paris, Metz, Angers, and now Châlons and Aix. This brings our team to 58 members, up from 35 previously.
This allows us to offer our clients better regional coverage and opens up new markets for us, such as the industrial basin of Fos-Berre in the Bouches-du-Rhône region and the wine and spirits industry near Châlons.
Another highlight was the organization of our annual Hackathon during Industry Week last November. Focusing on the theme of France's reindustrialization, the event was sponsored by BNP Paribas and Cap Gemini and culminated in an evening of pitches and an awards ceremony for the finalists at the Hôtel des Arts et Métiers.
The event provided an opportunity to welcome prestigious speakers to a series of conferences held in the main lecture hall: Alexandre Saubot (CEO of Haulotte Group, President of France Industrie, speaking on behalf of BPI and French Lab); Olivier Lluansi (former Industry and Energy Advisor to the President of the Republic, on the initiative of "Territoires d'industrie" launched by the Prime Minister); Anaïs Voy-Gillis (Director of Strategy & CSR at the Humens Group, associate researcher at CEREGE (University of Poitiers / IAE Poitiers) on French and European industrial issues); Olivier Mousson (President of the Société d'Encouragement pour l'Industrie Nationale, Senior Advisor to the Court of Auditors)...
What are your results in terms of activity?
The year is off to a good start! Our turnover is already up on last year, and we are still awaiting responses to some major tenders.
Our clients and projects are very diverse, ranging from entrepreneurs to international groups. For example, we are currently conducting a study for a winegrower to restore an old machine. As part of this project, we are designing and manufacturing components (gears, screws, etc.) at the foundry on the Châlons campus. We are also working for the Observatoire des Métiers et des Qualifications (Observatory of Professions and Qualifications) to analyze 13 industrial sectors based on economic indicators, testimonials, etc.
In addition, we are conducting a strategic study on the activities of a construction company in a port, particularly with regard to the viability of their supply chain and the existence of non-polluting solutions to optimize it.
What are your plans?
First of all, we will be attending the Global Industrie trade show in Villepinte from March 25 to 28.
We are also preparing to compete for a place among the best Junior Enterprises in France in the CNJE (National Confederation of Junior Enterprises) rankings. Our goal is to do better than last year and remain among the top six!
