On Wednesday, December 5, the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers and EDF signed a partnership agreement to introduce students to the issue of energy efficiency and the various professions within the EDF group.
The EDF Group is a key player in the energy transition, an integrated electricity company active in the fields of generation, transmission, distribution, trading, marketing, and energy services. Working in a wide range of specialties, the EDF Group offers a broad variety of jobs and profiles, particularly technical ones.
The Group positions itself as a "responsible electricity provider" and is committed to its customers and local communities, at the heart of the energy transition and climate challenges, to build a carbon-neutral energy future that reconciles preservation of the planet, well-being, and development through electricity and innovative solutions and services.
At a time when French industry is at a turning point in its history, it is important to bring together the academic and industrial worlds around a key issue: the challenges of decarbonization.
At the end of 2023, the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers signed a partnership agreement with the EDF Group with a number of objectives:
- promote access to EDF Group careers for Arts et Métiers students,
- enhance the diversity of profiles recruited within the EDF Group, in particular by promoting the feminization of industrial professions,
- promote student training in areas related to the specialties of the EDF Group andArts et Métiers,
- raise awareness among Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers professional practices that promote solidarity and respect for the environment,
- promote the development of research in subjects relevant to the specialties of the EDF Group andArts et Métiers.
A MEETING RICH IN EXCHANGESAND SHARING
EDF's visit to the Angers campus provided an opportunity for students to attend a roundtable discussion where they could listen to testimonials from EDF employees, some of whom are former Gadz'Arts students. This meeting also allowed students to engage in discussions with EDF in order to explore certain topics in greater depth.
MANY PROJECTS TO COME
As part of this partnership, EDF will be able to implement various initiatives to promote its business lines:
- Site visits to the EDF Group,
- Proposed topics for student projects,
- EDF Group professionals participate in training courses at Arts et Métiers during events.
- Specific activities, particularly on the environment (climate mural, the challenge of France's energy mix in decarbonization, etc.)
- Conferences integrated into specific events...
