Arts et Métiers invites Arts et Métiers to visit the VivaTech trade show from June 15 to 18, 2022, at booth C33, "French German Tech Lab," as part of its partnership with KIT.
The VivaTech trade show, the event dedicated to technological innovation.
Viva Technology, or VivaTech, created in 2016, is an annual international event dedicated totechnological innovation and start-ups.
The trade show, spread over four days from June 15 to 18, is aimed at both professionals (June 15, 16, and 17) and the general public (June 18).
This year, the themes highlighted are: the metaverse, Web3, the environment, and decarbonization.
Franco-German cooperation, driving force behind European technological sovereignty at Vivatech 2022
At Vivatechnology 2022, France and Germany will be showcasing their future European digital champions at a single stand: the French-German Tech Lab. This 300 m² lab m2 , co-organized by twelve French and German partners, will highlight the most promising startups and scaleups in their ecosystems.
The French-German Tech Lab also highlights concrete academic and economic cooperation between our two countries, which enables us to tackle the technological challenges of the future in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and Industry 4.0, thereby accelerating the ecological and sustainable transition and the development of European technological sovereignty.
The KarlsruheInstitute of Technology(KIT) and Arts et Métiers
The creation of the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Metz in 1997 was based on a powerful idea: to enrich the field of mechanical engineering through Franco-German cooperation in the form of a dual degree between Arts et Métiers KIT (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie). The program is demanding, both linguistically and academically, which makes these Franco-German graduates even more attractive to companies.
In 25 years, more than 850 students have chosen this dual degree, becoming both Arts et Métiers engineers Arts et Métiers holders of a Master's degree in Maschinenbau (mechanical engineering) from KIT.
Cooperation between Arts et Métiers KIT has grown stronger over the years, particularly thanks to joint research initiatives.
Wishing to consolidate this link, in 2017 the two institutions created the French-German Institute for Industry of the Future. This partnership aims to expand and develop collaboration in training, research, and innovation between Arts et Métiers KIT.
The Industry of the Future encompasses not only technological and economic challenges, but also societal issues. As a result, the Franco-German Institute is part of a broader vision of "people at the center of the production system."
The three areas of research at the Franco-German Institute for the Industry of the Future:
- Production system
- Robotics Virtual Reality
- Augmented Advanced manufacturing processes (including materials aspects)
Start-ups, at the heart of technological innovation
The VivaTech trade show showcases start-ups, giving you the opportunity to discover four of them throughout the event, as well as attend a round table discussion on start-up development and support from schools/universities.
Wednesday, June 15:
-Startup presentation: Airthium
Airthium designs and manufactures seasonal storage systems capable of storing solar energy in the summer for use in the winter. The startup's goal is to make renewable energy accessible to as many people as possible at a lower cost, all year round. Two former Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers involved in the venture: Jean Fauchet, an Arts et Métiers engineer, and Julien Artur de La Villarmois, who holds a double master's degree in mechanical engineering from Arts et Métiers and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
-Round table discussion: "How can schools/universities help start-ups develop?"
Thursday, June 16:
Startup presentation: Reveleo
For any property, Reveleo analyzes environmental and health criteria, summarizes them clearly, and compares them to surrounding properties so that you can make the best choice. This startup is incubated at the Arts et Métiers incubator Arts et Métiers the Paris campus.
