As part of the OPTIM Success Network, 17 eighth and ninth grade students from Saint-Exupéry Middle School in Mâcon spent a day at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Cluny with their 11 volunteer mentors.
A day of immersion punctuated in the morning by a visit to the Halle Bois and the Clunisois FabLab, as well as a practical session in foundry work. The afternoon was devoted to a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) workshop.
Divided into four groups, the middle school students took part in a collaborative design exercise using CAD software. Each team was accompanied by two first-year students.
At the end of the session, each group presented its project.
A vote was held to select the most appealing project.
