In addition to his training as an Arts et Métiers engineer, Pierre Aboucaya embarked on a technological innovation project: offering pleasure boats an additional space, suspended above the water.

For this Arts et Métiers engineering student, who has always had a keen interest in innovation and project creation, the PEIT program offered by Arts et Métiers the perfect fit! The Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation track supports students who want to start their own businesses or develop technological innovations within companies. To this end, Pierre obtained national student entrepreneur status. This gave him the opportunity to take specific courses in addition to the traditional Grande Ecole Program courses. Innovation, entrepreneurship, and design thinking were among the subjects covered in this program.

Pierre Aboucaya, engineering student at Arts et MétiersPierre then developed his idea: offering pleasure boats an extension suspended over the water, a project called "Par-dessus bord" (Overboard). " After a phase of identifying targets and needs, a prototype will be produced by the summer." explains the student entrepreneur. To achieve this, Pierre has developed his knowledge of composite materials, which are used to make boat hulls. He is also conducting material resistance tests to validate the digital design of the prototype. Pierre is not alone in this entrepreneurial adventure! Thanks to his student entrepreneur status Following the PEIT program, he was able to incorporate his project into the academic system and put together a team of four people to work with him on it. " We work on my project during our project-dedicated class hours, under the supervision of a teacher. " explains Pierre.

The professional benefits of this entrepreneurial adventure are undeniable: rigor, creativity, innovation, methodology... The list goes on! Beyond that, what matters most to Pierre is having the opportunity to create something he imagined and to invite other students to innovate with him! " Even if you don't have an innovative idea or a creative project, don't hesitate to reach out to student entrepreneurs to innovate in other ways!" concludes Pierre.
