To welcome the first-year students of Grande Ecole Engineering Programme, Nicolas Douaud, director of theKSBfacilityin Sequedin, shared Arts et Métiers vision of engineering careers with the future Arts et Métiers engineers. This presentation was part of the partnership between KSB and Arts et Métiers , which has been in place Arts et Métiers spring 2019.

Putting the lessons taught at Arts et Métiers into perspective Arts et Métiers the skills and attitudes that are useful in business is the focus of Nicolas Douaud's presentation, director of the KSB site in Sequedin (59)."Arts et Métiers givesArts et Métiers every opportunity to acquire skills in the areas you want! It's up to you to combine them with the soft skills required by the company you choose," says Nicolas Douaud. For this German group, a leader in the manufacture of pumps and valves, but also a pioneer in eco-design, the teaching provided in the Arts et Métiers engineeringprogram is particularly well suited. However, human qualities are also sought after in industry, and particularly at KSB. "Every company has its own values. KSB is very keen for people to fit in and emphasizes competence, trust, respect, and a desire to learn," explains the manager of the Sequedin site, which employs 160 people.

Being an engineer is a multifaceted profession: using the example of the life cycle of a pump, Nicolas Douaud presented a multitude of possible careers in industry. However, there is one common denominator: language skills. "English is essential for communicating with colleagues and suppliers around the world, and proficiency in a second language is highly recommended," explains the school director.

Thanks tothe partnership signed between Arts et Métiers KSB, engineering students will be able to benefit from KSB's expertise throughout the year, enriching their education through several initiatives:

  • Visit to the company to learn about its organization and business lines
