The fifth edition of Robot Makers' Day will take place on April 11, 12, and 13, 2019, on the Talence university campus. Part of this festival, dedicated to robotics and cobotics, will take place on the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Bordeaux-Talence. Its aim is to raise awareness of the possibilities and challenges offered by new technologies, while placing humans at the heart of this new ecosystem.

Organized by the Aquitaine Robotics cluster, this flagship event for the sector brings together various players in higher education: the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Bordeaux-Talence, ENSEIRB-MATMECA,the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Cognitique,URISA, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, andthe Bordeaux Academy.

The event will welcome the following guests to the Bordeaux-Talence campus:

- The "RoboCup Junior" academic final (160 teams over 3 days atENSEIRB-MATMECA and Arts et Métiers), a competition open to high school students with the aim of designing a robot that can move autonomously through a maze incorporating different types of obstacles.

- "Drones for Fun" (20 teams), a recreational drone piloting competition (maximum weight 250 grams) for middle school students,

- conferences organized byURISA.

Through these competitions and meetings with robotics professionals, middle and high school students will be able to gain a more concrete idea of this sector and its opportunities.
