This national academic competition was created in 2009 on the initiative of the Union of Industrial Science and Technology Teachers (UPSTI). It aims to develop an interest in engineering sciences among high school students.

This year marks its 10th anniversary. The National Engineering Science Olympiad is open to high school students in their junior and senior years studying science and technology at public or private general and technical high schools. The educational objectives are to evaluate and reward multi-technology experimental projects in engineering sciences and to develop students' initiative, taste for research, and engineering skills.

The Aix-en-Provence campus will welcome over 100 students. Each team will present its experimental project and explain its design and implementation process to a jury, with prizes awarded by the campus and event partners.

The winning team will participate in the national final on May 28, 2019 (oral presentation of the experimental project, followed by the awards ceremony). The national final will take place at EDF headquarters (Saclay plateau).
