Thesis defense by Zhicheng Huang, doctoral student at the Design, Manufacturing, and Control Laboratory (LCFC): "Models and methods for identifying and predicting geometric variations in additive manufacturing."

"This thesis focuses on additive manufacturing and, more specifically, its performance. Given that the cost and manufacturing time aspects are already well documented in the literature, this work focuses instead on the dimensional quality of the parts produced. This thesis therefore proposes a methodology for modeling geometric deviations caused by the additive manufacturing process by identifying their causes with the aim of predicting them in order to avoid or even compensate for them. This work is part of a theme at the LCFC laboratory that focuses in particular on manufacturing processes and product quality.
