The new challenges of Lean 6 Sigma: Lean 4.0 and managing complexity.
Lean Six Sigma is evolving in response to both the increasing complexity of the business world and the contributions of new technologies.
The science of simplification and streamlining through the elimination of waste and the standardization of processes, the fact remains that the business world is not always smooth sailing.
Robotization, Industry 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0, the digitization and digitalization of the economy and businesses, the sophistication of production machinery on the one hand, and the increasingly important role played by "customization" at the expense of standardization on the other, are growing trends that must be taken into account.

Managing complexity
How can projects be delivered on time and deviations avoided? How can activities be synchronized? How can processes and operations be simplified?
These issues are well known and generally dealt with rationally, using good consolidated planning (but always inaccurate), a few algorithms in ERP systems (but never adapted), lots of meetings (often useless)... and we think that's it. Unfortunately, experience shows that this is not the case.
The reality today is that managers have to juggle dozens or even hundreds of projects at the same time, with tight deadlines and increasingly limited resources. SIMPLEX / SYNCHRO a method developed in the field
- Didier PEOC’H – Global Division Director, Vétoquinol (Animal Pharmaceuticals) will present an experience of major simplification in the management of industrial projects using process reengineering, Obeya room, and focused management approaches.
- Christian POTIE (Ovale Performance) and Malik DJEFFAL (Head of Business Excellence Flexi France, TECHNIPFMC group) will present a deployment on complex business management.
The complexity of knowledge undermined by APC (Automated Process Control)
APC is an evolution of Statistical Process Control and involves using IT tools to control a production process in order to achieve much better results (speed, reduced adjustment costs) than with traditional control based on human adjustment. With APC, a single part is enough to fully adjust your production (even the most complex parts), enabling considerable gains in terms of quality and productivity. By Mathieu NEFF - Eurocast (Automotive) and Davy Pillet – CEO Ellistat
Partner visits / 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Lunch / buffet 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Certification panel / 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. (in parallel with the conference)
Conferences / Part 2 : 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Lean 4.0 to boost business performance
- Review of academic literature on Industry 4.0 by Samir LAMOURI, Professor of Industrial Engineering at LAMIH CNRS / Arts et Métiers , based on his article recently published in the International Journal of Production Research. Lean 4.0 modeling in line with research on Lean and the digital factory of the future, by Alain FERCOQ, Head of the Lean Production Logistics Master's program at Arts & Métiers / Paris Campus
- How 4.0 technologies are pushing the boundaries of Lean at Bosch France. For several years now, the Bosch Group has been firmly committed to developing 4.0 solutions in the field within its factories, drawing on the expertise of its various business units. Erick Gonzalez, France BPS 4.0 (Bosch Production System) coordinator, will present the experiments, conditions for success, and results achieved with Lean Manufacturing 4.0.
- Feedback on conducting a pilot project on augmented realityas part of General Electric's "The Brilliant Factory" strategy by Philippe PASCAL, Lean Manager at General Electric Healthcare (Buc site): how applicable is it for accelerating the training of technicians on a new production line or improving assembly activities? How mature are the technologies to date?
- Lean and Digital, an original perspective on complementarities, pitfalls to avoid, and the importance of remaining "human-centric" by Cécile ROCHE, Lean & Agile Director of the Thales Group Thalès, member of the Lean Institute France and holder of a Specialized Studies Certificate in Lean Management from Telecom ParisTech, author of two books on Lean Management*
