Initiated in the 1950s by the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne (ICB, UMR 6303 CNRS, Université Bourgogne Europe) and the AGH Faculty of Krakow, this conference takes place alternately in Poland and France.  Over the years, other partners have joined the founders, and this year, the event is being organized by LaBoMaP at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Cluny, in the heart of Cluny Abbey, from April 22 to 24, 2026.

Solid Reactivity Conference 2026

This 19th International Franco-Polish Conference on Solid Reactivity explores the mechanisms and applications of corrosion, sintering, and metallurgical transformations. By examining both theoretical models and experimental data, it highlights the role of microstructural evolution in the reactivity of materials under various environmental and industrial conditions.

Topics covered

  • Oxidative degradation of metals
  • Solid-phase diffusion during sintering
  • Phase transformations critical for alloy development

Contributions from experts will offer insights into kinetic models, thermodynamic stability, and the performance of materials under thermal and mechanical stress. Aimed at researchers, engineers, and materials specialists, this conference highlights the key role of solid reactivity in modern technologies—from aeronautics to sustainable energy systems.
