Professors Charbel Farhat and Dimitris Lagoudas are appointed as Arts et Métiers Doctors Honoris Causa

Amine Ammar, a lecturer in Angers, has been in Singapore since 1 September as part of the DesCartes scheme.

On 18 October, Arts et Métiers and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) launched the Franco-Malaysian Institute for Future Industry. A structural partnership that reflects the institution's commitment to expanding its links with South-East Asia.

Arts et Métiers was in charge of determining piezo locations and of the high-level software interface with CTEC hardware ensuring damage monitoring. We participated in the implementation at TU Delft of the trial campaign.

Like many higher education institutes around the world, the Arts et Métiers community is contributing their time and expertise to combat the outbreak.

From the design and manufacture of personal protective equipment to the development of respiratory valves, the Arts et Métiers community is supporting health care staff in hospitals, nursing homes as well as in public services.

Among many of the initiatives, Prof Gilles Regnier, member of the PIMM laboratory in the Paris campus, has designed and mass manufactured injected headband faceshields. On May 5th, more than 9000 faceshields have already been distributed to health care staff.

In the following article, Prof Regnier presents the design and production and discusses how the faceshield can be improved.

While companies are severely affected by the consequences of Covid-19, the Arts et Métiers community is mobilizing to help 1,500 SMEs and VSEs to restart their activity.
