ParolesArts et Métiers back with a new episode: Experimental rockets redesigned by three apprentices at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers .
BackgroundÂ
In ParolesArts et Métiers, we talk about industry, innovation, transitions, health, materials, new technologies, and many other topics related to engineering sciences and Arts et Métiers. Everyone in the Arts et Métiers community—students, staff, and alumni—is involved in the adventure. In each episode, designed and hosted by Carole Wahnoun, a research engineer on the Paris campus, with technical support from Jean-Marc Rousseau, Multimedia Designer and Producer at ICIFTech, one or more guests take the time to discuss an important topic related to Arts et Métiers.
Podcast introduction
On the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers , three third-year apprentices in the Mechanical Engineering Program are passionate about aeronautics and aerospace. Marc Michelin, Nathan Peuriere, and Antoine Polge will talk to us about aeronautics, experimental projects, and rockets.
HighlightsÂ
• Participation in the C'Space Challenge;
• Construction of an experimental rocket;
• Feedback on the operational aspects of a rocket flight;
• Towards a model for characterizing electrostatic charge accumulation phenomena;
• The NeoAstra association, dedicated to student projects related to aeronautics and aerospace.
Biographies of Marc Michelin, Nathan Peuriere, and Antoine Polge
Marc Michelin, 30, resumed his studies at the age of 24. After obtaining his scientific baccalaureate, he entered the workforce directly, joining Latécoère in Gimont as an aeronautical fitter.
In order to continue his career in the aeronautics sector, in 2021 he obtained a DUT (university technical diploma) in Industrial Engineering and Maintenance from Blagnac, then completed a double degree in "Aeronautical Maintenance" and "Aeronautical Science and Technology" at the POLYAERO training center, affiliated with Aix-Marseille University. During this professional degree, he worked on a work-study basis at Sonovision, an Airbus subcontractor based in Aix-en-Provence, as a Maintenance Analyst on Super Puma.
In 2023, Marc Michelin wants to embark on another stage of a career path that he wishes to continue to link with the professional world. He therefore took and passed the recruitment tests for the Specialized Engineering Program in Mechanics offered at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers in partnership with ITTI*Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur.
Currently in his final year of training, he is also working on a work-study contract at Airbus Helicopters as a systems engineer.
Prior to his recruitment at Arts et Métiers, Nathan Peuriere, 23, enrolled in the PTSI-PT preparatory classes at Lycée Jules Garnier in Nouméa (New Caledonia), where he discovered engineering and mechanics. With a particular interest in aeronautics, Nathan Peuriere completed his work-study program at Airbus Helicopters and, in his third year, chose the "Aeronautics" option offered by Arts et Métiers part of the "Mechanics" Specialized Engineering Program taught at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers .
Antoine Polge, 22, first completed a DUT (university technical diploma) in Mechanical and Production Engineering in 2022, where he learned the basics of design and manufacturing. He is continuing his studies with a dual track Professional Bachelor's degree in "Aeronautical Maintenance" and "Aeronautical Science and Technology" at the POLYAERO training center, affiliated with Aix-Marseille University. Antoine Polge completed this professional degree through a work-study program at the Cabin & Structure Engineering office of the airline HOP!, part of the Air France group, which gave him a concrete vision of the work of an engineer in the aeronautics field.
Joining the Specialized Engineering Program in Mechanics at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers allowed him to broaden his technical skills and develop a real engineering approach, enabling him to constantly push himself in both design and innovation. As part of his preparation for this specialized engineering degree, Antoine Polge is completing a work-study program at Fonderies du Midi.
