An engineering student at Arts et Métiers the Lille campus, Fanny Canoën is also an entrepreneurial student who puts her ideas to work for the benefit of the environment. To bring her project to fruition and develop the bulk goods business, she benefits from specific support mechanismsArts et Métiers.

Interested in environmental protection and the solutions needed to achieve it, Fanny Canoën came up with the idea of offering new bulk product dispensers. "By 2030, supermarkets larger than 400m² will have to devote 20% of their space to bulk goods," notes the engineering student. However, buying in bulk still presents many obstacles for consumers and retailers alike. So the student entrepreneur came up with an idea: to offer new dispensers that are easier to use and allow new products, such as yogurt, to be sold in bulk.

Fanny is not alone in this endeavor! "In our second year, we work in groups on concrete projects. I had the opportunity to propose my project so that other students could work on it with me. In the end, there are nine engineering students involved!" says Fanny happily. Divided into two groups, the students are working on designing and developing these new dispensers, as well as improving the flow of bulk goods.

At the same time, Fanny is enrolled in the Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation Program offered by Arts et Métiers. Through additional classes, she is learning about the specifics of technological entrepreneurship and meeting with industry professionals. "It's very rewarding because you meet other people who help you develop your idea," adds the engineering student. Fanny has thus been able to gain a better understanding of market research through an approach that differs from that of an engineer.

In addition to the satisfaction of working on her idea, Fanny's project allows her and the engineering students involved to develop their knowledge of CAD, electronics, and industrial management.
