The campus is launching a new Master of Science program in the fall of 2020: “Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Science”, supported by Texas A&M University (TAMU).
Training to innovate in advanced manufacturing
This national Master of Science degree in Master of Science Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Scienceenables students to acquire expertise in manufacturing processes and materials through a multiphysical and multiscale approach that incorporates computational methods and artificial intelligence.
This Master of Science program Master of Science two objectives:
- Possess extensive expertise in materials science and advanced manufacturing processes. The objective is to prepare students for industrial integration with a scientific approach in the fields of materials science, materials processing, and/or mechanical parts manufacturing.
- Acquire highly specialized skills enabling integration into a large company in the field of transportation or energy, or into a research organization specializing in mechanical engineering or materials engineering.
Several leading manufacturers in the sector (Airbus, Renault, PSA, CEA, Safran, Thyssen Group, LISI Automotive, Essilor, Saint-Gobain, Sateco, Still) and institutions (Safe cluster, Henri-Fabre Project, IRT M2P) have expressed their support for this training program.
The academic partners associated with the MSMP laboratory (Aix-en-Provence, Châlons-en-Champagne, Lille) are TESS-TAMU (Texas A&M University) Center for Intelligent Multifunctional Materials and Structures – CiMMS, Institute for Manufacturing Systems – IMS, College Station, Texas, USA, and the following universities: University of Bristol, Danish Technical University, and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
Training in and through research
This 300-hour training course (taught entirely in English) is directly tailored to the sector's expectations and covers the various aspects of material/manufacturing process relationships: from the material to the use of manufactured parts, developing interactions between experimentation and digital simulation.
It meets the needs of the industry of the future in terms of industrial production technologies and tools.
A six-month professional assignment in a company, laboratory, or organization completes the training.
For Laurent Barrallier, program manager:
The use of digital technology in materials science and manufacturing processes has been a reality for several years. Artificial intelligence will enable us to multiply cross-disciplinary, multi-physical, and multi-scale approaches between materials and manufacturing processes, which are our institution's core business. This program will enable us to adapt our engineering training to the new challenges of the industry of the future by integrating it into the AM² project. AM² project between Arts et Métiers TAMU.
Who is this Master of Science program intended for Master of Science
This national Master of Science degree Master of Science Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Science" builds on the transatlantic partnership established with Texas A&M University to establish a dual Master of Science degree Master of Science .
This Master of Science open to our students at the end of their second year and to American students from TAMU, as well as to French or international students who have completed Master of Science of a Master of Science program in mechanical engineering or materials science.
