Students at Relais Santé Arts et Métiers are rallying around nutrition
News

The Student Health Representatives (ERS) at the Arts et Métiers Campus Arts et Métiers , Elise Lagneaux, Guillaume Marodon, and Théophile Peyredieu Du Charlat, worked with Mutualité Française Pays de la Loire and MGEN to co-develop a health prevention project on nutrition aimed at students. Because yes, "eating differently is possible!"

Eating well: it's everyone's business!

COVID-19 did not defeat this project, and it will now take the form of a special series of five podcasts "Eating differently is possible" produced by the Etudiants Relais Santé (Health Relay Students) with the association "Du pain sur la planche" (Work to be done) and a dietitian-nutritionist, that students were made aware of the importance of nutrition. These podcasts aim to help and advise students on how to eat well by reviewing a range of topics: breakfast, aperitifs, snacks, balanced diets, and legumes.

The impact of diet on health

The subject of nutrition was close to our hearts, and it was a project we wanted to develop this year. The lockdown gave us extra motivation on this subject, since the challenge was not only to promote a balanced diet, but also to prevent malnutrition linked to isolation and sometimes difficult social circumstances.

Despite the lockdown, the students worked remotely, collaborating with the dietitian. This was a very rewarding experience and brought their year-long mission with the students to a close. In line with their mission of prevention, their role was more broadly to encourage open discussion on various topics and facilitate exchanges through fun activities on subjects such as alcohol, risky behavior, nutrition, sleep, etc."Thanks to this ERS mission, we have acquired skills that will likely be useful in our future careers. We are in constant contact with the students and the school, more specifically with the Student Life Officer, who has supported us throughout the year. We have had very good feedback on the actions carried out this year and we are delighted!"

You too can benefit from the advice of a dietitian through these five podcasts from "Eating differently is possible!" available online here!
