This year, 19 students on professional training contracts in Angers and 8 in Laval are benefiting from practical industrial experience.
The Angers-Laval campus offers students the opportunity to complete their training under a professional training contract, allowing them to combine academic learning with work experience. In Angers, this contract is available in the third year for the three areas of expertise offered: Engineering and Sustainable Construction Management (IGDC), Managinov, and Innovative Process Engineering (IPI). In Laval, students can access it from the M1 level for the MTI3D Master's and the TEEF Master's.
The professional training contract is a win-win partnership. The company benefits from the skills of our future engineers on concrete projects, while the student puts into practice the knowledge acquired during their first two years at Arts et Métiers.
Fabien Bellanger, trainer and third-year tutor at Arts et Métiers , explains the objective of this work-study program: "Students must complete a mandatory 28-week industrial placement. They start the year on a work-study basis and then move to full-time work at the company for six months in the second semester."
Jacky Raimbault, director of RAIMBAULT MACHINES SPECIALES, adds: "The professional training contract with Arts et Métiers allows Arts et Métiers to work with employees from a generalist school who have a flair for mechanics. We enjoy training them and seeing them develop during their training. They adapt quickly, listen carefully, and demonstrate good analytical skills. The ultimate goal is to hire them at the end of their training."
Vincent MESSU, a student inhis final yearof the MANAGINOV program, on a professional training contract at RAIMBAULT MACHINES SPECIALES, shares his experience: "The professional training contract allowed me to make a smooth transition into the business world. As part of this work-study program, I was given responsibilities, I had to manage people, make decisions, meet with suppliers and customers, and handle different customer needs and different companies with different requirements. Alongside these real-world exercises, the training at Arts et Métiers helps Arts et Métiers develop a technical culture that makes it easier to tackle issues in the workplace. The most formative aspect is making mistakes at the beginning, only to realize later that there are many possible solutions. There is always room for improvement; we never stop learning."
Since 2020, Raimbault Machines Spéciales has welcomed four studentsArts et Métiers on professional training contracts, including Vincent Messu, who is completing histhird year at Managinov, and Hugo Desloges Bazile, who was hired by the company at the end of his professional training contract there.
As a reminder, three areas of expertise are offered in Angers: Engineering and Sustainable Construction Management (IGDC), Managinov, and Innovative Process Engineering (IPI).
