Ensuring the success of an event like the “ Arts et Métiers ” forum requires meticulous organization—a challenge that the student team leading the 2026 edition is taking on with ease.
In September, finalize company registrations, begin producing badges and name tags for the 4,000 visitors (students and recent graduates) and 150 exhibitors, and reach out to students to encourage them to prepare for their visits… The team in charge of the 2026 “ Arts et Métiers ” career fair is following a very specific schedule to ensure the success of the 46th edition.
A Successful Handoff
“We were able to build on the work done by the team that organized the 2025 event,” explains Enzo Mariller, who heads the team’s Communications division (see below). “They set aside an entire weekend back in April to share as much information as possible with us. That’s been a huge help with our planning. We got down to work in May by starting to contact companies, reserving the Parc Floral, and drawing up a communications plan...”
Cover all industries
The forum will take place on October 20, 2026, at the Parc Floral in Paris.
It is one of the largest engineering job fairs in France. For the 2026 event, the team has set several goals. The first is to maintain the number of participating companies and cover all industry sectors (defense, energy, consulting, etc.). This goal will likely be met, as by the end of August, about 100 companies had already registered.
The team also hopes to build on the success of previous editions by organizing a virtual forum on October 7 and 8 for those who cannot travel to Paris on October 20. Likewise, the business lunches—which facilitate interaction between recruiters and students—are still on the agenda.
However, the team wanted to offer more roundtable discussions focused on aerospace, AI, and energy, led by experts. Bernard Fontana, Chairman and CEO of EDF; Yves Bréchet, former High Commissioner for Atomic Energy; and Francis Perrin, an energy expert and research director at IRIS, have already confirmed their attendance.
The forum will also welcome political figures.
Another new feature is the creation of an “Agora,” a space dedicated to discussion, where alumni and other guest speakers will come to share their experiences with students.
Students, get ready for your visit!
The Forum is a great opportunity to build your professional future: we invite you to bring an up-to-date resume, a well-prepared elevator pitch, tailored cover letters, and any other useful resources.
Beyond your own professional background, you represent the image and values ofArts et Métiers to the companies in attendance.
Identify Opportunities with TOPI
Don't waste time searching aimlessly among the many booths. Take the personality quiz, and TOPI will analyze your soft skills, your strengths, and your career aspirations. You'll instantly receive a tailored list of companies and industries that perfectly match your career goals.
How to Write a Compelling and Concise Resume
Your resume must fit on a single page so it can be scanned at a glance. Highlight the exact title of your degree program, your key technical skills, your volunteer experience, and your previous internships. Use action verbs and quantify your achievements whenever possible to make your background stand out.
Logistical tip: Print three high-quality copies of your resume the day before the career fair. Even in the digital age, a paper copy remains the most memorable and effective way to guide your conversation with a recruiter at a booth.
Structuring Your Presentation Pitch (2 minutes)
The first contact with a company is often crucial. To capture your contact’s attention in a professional manner, prepare a smooth introduction by structuring your remarks using the Past/Present/Future method:
- Your Profile (15s) Please state your first name, last name, school, and current major.
- Your Strengths (45 seconds) Discuss a notable project, a key skill, or an experience relevant to the company’s industry.
- Your Project (30s) Clearly state what you're looking for (internship, work-study program, first job) and your interest in their activities.
Research companies in advance
To stand out, you must avoid approaching a booth by mechanically asking, “What does your company do?” Use the complete list of exhibitors in advance to identify your top 5 to 10 priority targets. Briefly research their industries, locations, values, and major developments (such as innovation projects, environmental initiatives, etc.) so you can ask relevant questions.
