Corentin Lallet, general engineer, class of 2014

Automotive mechanics, a family passion

Corentin grew up surrounded by classic cars, so he became interested in automotive mechanics and technology at a very early age. "Choosing a scientific and technical course of study was the obvious way for me to find answers to all the questions I had about the complex and innovative mechanisms found in these cars."

After completing a science-focused high school diploma, he enrolled in a preparatory class (PTSI/PT) with the goal of attending Arts et Métiers. Why? First and foremost, it was a family tradition: "My father attended this school thirty years earlier. Thanks to him, I quickly discovered that it fostered special, unbreakable bonds between students."

Arts et Métiers presented Arts et Métiers as the benchmark in the fields of industry, manufacturing process research, and production. So it was an obvious choice for me.

Team spirit and "project mode"Corentin Lallet

For Corentin, the engineering program at Arts et Métiers is an opportunity to discover the different fields of application for engineering techniques, but also to work on projects. "We learn to listen to each other, put the problem on the table, and give our opinions and solutions to arrive at a common product."

Teamwork with fellow students, but also with technicians and teachers: "I had high expectationsArts et Métiers terms of design and manufacturing. Thanks to the involvement of the technicians and teachers, I was able to actually manufacture the parts I designed, while understanding the flaws and errors I encountered."

Internships that help you refine your career plans

A semester spent in his third year atthe University of Sherbrooke in Canada allowed Corentin to focus his studies on aeronautics and project management. He is now putting what he learned into practice during his end-of-studies internship: "I am currently interning at Airbus Helicopters, where I am responsible for improving risk management on the H160 program. It is a dynamic and innovative project in the final stages of development, where I am given complete freedom to express myself."

I feel like an engineer for the first time!

The various stages that have marked his career path have allowed him to flourish and look forward to a promising professional career. "I will leave this school with a great deal of self-confidence because it has prepared me from the outset to respond effectively to real industrial problems while mastering the solutions that address them."

Corentin sees himself continuing at Airbus Helicopters, but the possibilities remain open! "This past year has led me to work on the risks that a project can generate, particularly their insurability. Nevertheless, perhaps this stint at Airbus Helicopters will be an opportunity to subsequently participate in the production of the new aircraft I am working on today."
