Essential measures have been taken at the national level to contain the coronavirus epidemic. On this page, you will find all the information concerning the impact of these measures on school life.
Access to campuses
Since Monday, March 16 at 12 noon, all campuses have been closed to students and staff. Special permission to attend may be granted by the campus director.
In general, we urge youto stay at home and strictly follow the health guidelines to limit the spread of the new coronavirus as effectively as possible.
Business continuity plan
Administrative staff are mobilized to ensure the smooth running of the school during lockdown.
Following the closure of campuses, the institution's staff have been placed on telework or special leave. More than half of the administrative staff (registration, finance, accounting) are now teleworking. Staff performing functions that cannot be done remotely are staying at home on special leave.
Faced with the risk of employee isolation, management has implemented measures to maintain connections. Department heads must therefore be in daily contact with employees working from home (at least one contact by phone, text message, or email) and every other day with those on special leave.
Hotlines staffed by social workers are also available for employees who wish to use them.
Educational continuity plan
Thanks to the rapid and effective mobilization of all teachers, and with the support of the Information Systems management teams, educational continuity was ensured from March 16 onwards.
Two complementary working methods structure distance learning:
- Asynchronous: all documents necessary for continuing instruction are available on SAVOIR. The instructor provides students with work instructions and expectations.
- Synchronous: A videoconference is scheduled at the same time as the face-to-face teaching session initially scheduled in the LISE timetable. Not all teaching sessions will be systematically scheduled in synchronous mode, and students will be notified of the sessions to be attended.
Any teacher or student unable to teach or attend distance learning courses must notify the training program manager as soon as possible.
International exchange students
For students currently participating in mobility programs
Students abroad, and more importantly students from outside the EU, are strongly advised to return to France. They must then inform their program director and the registrar's office on their campus so that the best possible educational continuity can be ensured once they are back on French soil.
For students who need to study abroad
Mobility must be postponed until it can be carried out under normal conditions. If this is not possible before the initially scheduled graduation jury, the cancellation of the compulsory mobility will be considered on a case-by-case basis, without affecting the student's ability to graduate.
International students studying abroad at an Arts et Métiers campus
Foreign exchange students at an Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers from the same facilities as other students and the same distance learning courses.
International students who wish to do so may return to their home country. In this case, they may:
- Either stay in the Arts et Métiers program Arts et Métiers take classes remotely.
- Or withdraw from the Arts et Métiers program. In this case, they must notify the program director and contact their home institution. Any ECTS credits already earned will be transferred.
Interns
If the internship has already started
The internship format may be modified (from in-person to remote) and an amendment to the agreement must be signed as soon as possible. In exceptional circumstances, the duration of the internship may be reduced without impacting students' ability to graduate.
If the internship has not started but the internship agreement has been signed
The student must contact their host company to confirm that remote working is possible. If this is not possible, interns who are required to travel to their internship location must ask their host company for a certificate justifying their commute between home and work. The host company remains responsible for organizing the internship in such a way that health and safety rules are strictly adhered to.
In the event that neither option (remote work or adapted on-site work) can be implemented on the date specified in the internship agreement, the student must either request a postponement of the internship start date from their campus registrar's office or find a new internship.
A student who has signed an internship agreement with an institution abroad is not allowed to leave France. They must therefore look for a new internship.
If the internship agreement has not yet been signed
Students must contact their prospective host company to verify that the internship can take place in accordance with one of the two options available (remote working or adapted in-person working). In exceptional circumstances, the duration of the internship may be reduced without affecting students' ability to graduate.
Students in apprenticeship or professional training contracts
In order to follow the distance learning program set up by the institution, two situations agreed upon with the employer allow students to continue following the normal work-study schedule:
- Apprentices or students on professional training contracts can follow them from home, provided they have the necessary equipment.
- Apprentices or students on professional training contracts follow them in the workplace, when conditions allow and the company is able to provide them with the appropriate equipment.
