From May 23 to June 21, the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers is pleased to welcome 48 students from Texas A&M University and their professors Francisco Olivera and Justin Wilkerson as part of the AM² transatlantic partnershipestablished in 2017 between Arts et Métiers Texas A&M.
This study trip promises to be rich in discoveries and sharing!
A Study Abroad Program in "Mechanics of Materials," "Fluid Mechanics," and "Manufacturing"
This is the fourth time that the campus has set up a Study Abroad Program for Texas A&M undergraduate students as part of the AM² transatlantic partnership. Accompanied by two of their teachers, they come to France to take courses in Mechanics of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, and Manufacturing, which count toward their academic curriculum. American students studying Manufacturing will be taught by four Arts et Métiers faculty members Arts et Métiers MSMP (Mechanics, Surfaces, Materials, and Processes) laboratory. This blended format, which was tested last year, was very well received by students and will continue to be developed in the coming years.

Total immersion from Paris to Aix-en-Provence
Before arriving on campus in Aix-en-Provence, students will have the opportunity to visit Paris, the Palace of Versailles, and a major Parisian museum. They will be welcomed by Director General Laurent Champaney on the Paris campus.
Once they arrive in Aix-en-Provence, they will stay in a student residence in the city center, and two engineering students will serve as teaching assistants, helping them with their daily travel and organizing their days.
In addition to their coursework (between 45 and 60 hours) in English, they will continue their introduction to the French language and European culture. They will benefit from a special program to discover Provence, including visits to the CEA Cadarache, a vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Aix-en-Provence, and iconic Provençal sites such as the Calanques de Cassis, the Gorges du Verdon, and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.
Increasingly significant interactions with engineering students
There are plans to develop interactions with Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers to promote exchanges:
- an afternoon of discussion on the specific features of Arts et Métiers TAMU, addressing issues of acculturation in the field of engineering in order to promote international experiences (semester abroad, dual degree). TAMU students currently on exchange semester on campus will also welcome new arrivals,
- A full day of maritime environment awareness (Global trends in Blue-economy) included in the program, where American and French students will work together on global trends in the blue economy, in the form of conferences, workshops, and a visit to the "Saga," Commander Cousteau's underwater platform in Marseille (Comex). This is a topic of public interest for the Aix-Marseille region, which, due to its central location in France, Europe, and the world, is a maritime territory of the first order. The maritime economy is one of the region's eight sectors of excellence, notably with the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille project, which has attractions similar to those of the Port of Galveston, Texas. The main theme chosen is the smart port. Conferences hosted by Provence Promotion, Bouygues Innovation, and CMA-CGM...
Event funded by the Metropolis.

- a waste collection operation in the Prado district of Marseille, organized by the association The projects of the heart apprentices in the Civil Engineering Program.
There will also be opportunities for socializing. Students from Texas will be able to participate in sports activities or after-work events organized by engineering students to help them bond with students on campus.
