Awarded to young talents in the field of occupational and industrial risk prevention, the AINF (Association Interprofessionnelle de France) university prize recognizes Aziz Khouaja for the quality of his professional thesis.
Optimizing road risk management
It was during his professional internship at Codes Rousseau Mobilité thatAziz Khouaja, a student in theSpecialized Master®in Risk Management ( MS MGR) program , noticed that companies and their insurance providers measure their road risk management solely by accident frequency. In other words, only the ratio between the number of accidents and the number of motor vehicles in their fleet is taken into account.
Aziz Khouaja thus identifies the need for companies to be able to assess road risks in a comprehensive manner, taking into account all aspects: liability rates, physical severity, etc.
To do this, companies and insurers must bring together all the risk factors: frequency of road accidents, type, severity, bodily injury, costs, etc. Aziz Khouaja has therefore developed a tool that takes all these indicators into account in order to provide a more accurate picture of road risk management for a company.
Providing informed decision-making to businesses
"My professional goal has always been to contribute to the development of risk management, which, in my opinion, is not widespread enough in France, as many people struggle to assess risk with the precision required to make informed decisions," he explains. With this tool, companies can refine their risk management policies related to road accidents involving their employees. The next step will be to continue research to improve the accuracy of the results.
Expertise acquired through the MS MGR program
TheSpecializedMaster's®in Risk Management enabled Aziz Khouaja to acquire the necessary expertise in risk management to successfully complete his professional project. "My thesis is fully in line with this desire to contribute to the improvement of risk management tools, so that all professionals can have access to the most accessible and comprehensive assessment possible."
Aziz Khouaja chose this program while he was interning at Kroll, a business intelligence and risk management consulting firm, because "The MS MGR was recommended to me by everyone I knew in the business world. Beyond the technical skills that every risk manager needs to know, the MS MGR program allowed me to develop my ability to synthesize information, be cautious about cognitive biases, reconcile risks, and reconcile identified risks with the decision-maker's objectives."
The AINF university award ceremony took place on May 16, 2017.
