First-year students at the Châlons-en-Champagne campus took part in the latest edition of a major joint challenge that combined technical skills, awareness-raising, and commitment.
Launched in 2014, the Campus Challenge once again brings together students from all three programs, school staff, and external organizations. This event, organized annually by Jean-François Woirin, head of the logistics department, fosters a sense of unity around a shared project that combines hands-on work, awareness-raising activities, and entertainment.
Beyond the Challenge: Prevention and Safety
Awareness and safety were at the heart of this event. Many workshops were designed to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco and alcohol, our impact on the environment, and more. Other activities focused on teaching students how to respond appropriately in the event of a fire. Through these initiatives, the school instills in its students a commitment to the challenges of tomorrow and to a more responsible future.
Let's all work together to make our campus better!
Some groups had the opportunity to help beautify the campus through artistic creations (murals, drawings, etc.) and handmade decorative items. Students from “Arts et Métiers ” also renovated some outdoor facilities (bike and electric scooter shelters). Thanks to these projects, the first-year students were able to leave their mark on the Châlons-en-Champagne campus.
Everyone has a role to play
To ensure this group challenge ran smoothly, a few teams coordinated their efforts to assist with logistics and activities throughout the day. They prepared meals for everyone on campus and organized a concert. As a result, all the participants came together to share moments of camaraderie and good cheer.
Solidarity and camaraderie: the keywords of the day!
According to Armand, a first-year student in the Bachelor’s program in Science and Engineering: “Everyone was friendly, and the instructors were supportive. Teaching safety in a fun way is a great way to understand the various hazards.”
Aymeric, a first-year student in the Mechanical and Robotics Engineering Program (PIS), said, “This team challenge was fun; we got to meet students from other programs and share what we know.”
According to Armand, a first-year student in the Bachelor’s program in Science and Engineering: “Everyone was friendly, and the instructors were supportive. Teaching safety in a fun way is a great way to understand the various hazards.”
For his part, Augustin, a first-year student in the Professional High School Program ( Grande Ecole Engineering Programme , or PGE), said: “It was cool to be able to do useful activities, especially prevention work and decorating. Everything was done in a fun way, and there was a great atmosphere.”
The final word goes to Jean-Francois Woirin: “Everyone was really enthusiastic and seemed to enjoy the day. If I had to choose one word to sum it up: FELLOWSHIP!”
This year, the Campus Challenge received support from the Châlons-en-Champagne Urban Community, the Grand EST Region, and several local companies: AGENOR, ANQUET, AS RENOVATION, CDB, ITERTIAT, M-REFRIGERION, and VM BATIMENT.
