Arts et Métiers 's Châlons campus welcomes 9th-grade students for a day of discovery, hands-on activities, and technical challenges

On the agenda: interactive activities focused on physics, robotics, and digital fabrication, plus a workshop that will take you on a journey from potato chips to smartphone cases! Not to mention miniature cars designed by undergraduate technology students that race at full speed.

A day to explore, understand, marvel… and maybe even discover a calling!

Activities

Cutting in all its forms

What do making potato chips and making your cell phone case have in common?

Come check out our workshops. We'll show you our cutting tools, from vegetable peelers to the most high-performance machines used in the industry.

F1 in Schools

Mini race cars designed by undergraduate technology students!

As part of the internationalF1 in Schools challenge, our students designed, modeled, and built real miniature race cars. Powered by CO₂ cartridges, these cars zoom around the track at top speed! Come admire their ingenuity and learn about the design process in a presentation that’s as scientific as it is spectacular.

Robotics and Automation

Come discover cobots—collaborative robots that work side by side with humans!

Unlike traditional robots, cobots do not replace humans: they assist them with their tasks, in complete safety. In factories, hospitals, or even libraries, they make tasks simpler, more precise, and sometimes less tiring. Come see them in action and ask your questions.

Fablab

The workshop where ideas come to life!

Come discover the school’s fablab, a creative space open to anyone with a sense of curiosity! 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters… Here, cutting-edge technologies are accessible to everyone. Students and teachers design innovative objects, experiment, and bring their projects to life.

Viscosity

Come discover viscosity… while having fun!

Why does honey flow more slowly than water? How can a liquid be both fluid and resistant? Come explore the fascinating world of viscous liquids. Come test, compare, and understand this phenomenon that’s hidden in our everyday lives!

Brake… without touching! Discover eddy currents

How can you slow down an object without touching it? Thanks to eddy currents! This amazing physical phenomenon makes it possible to slow down moving objects using magnetic fields. Used in roller coasters, trains, and even some bicycles, this type of braking is silent, contactless, and spectacular. Come try it out for yourself and see how science turns the invisible into action!
