This year, the event is being organized by ENSAM's LaBoMaP, Cluny Campus, located within the prestigious Cluny Abbey, from April 22 to 24, 2026.

The 19th Franco-Polish International Conference on the Reactivity of Solids explores the mechanisms and applications of corrosion, metallurgical transformations, and processes for developing bulk or thin-film materials.

By examining both theoretical models and empirical data, this lecture bridges the gap between surface chemistry and solid-state physics, showing how microstructural evolution governs reactivity under various environmental and industrial conditions.

Topics covered include

  • oxidative degradation of metals,
  • reactivity and solid-state diffusion
  • phase transformations essential to the development of alloys,
  • the durability of materials (corrosion, etc.),
  • Functional Materials, Material Forming Processes, Energy and Flaw Propagation, and Sintering.

Contributions from renowned experts shed light on kinetic models. Thermodynamic stability and behavior of materials under thermal and mechanical stresses: this is the subject of this conference aimed at researchers, engineers, and materials specialists. It highlights the crucial role of solid reactivity in the development of modern technologies, from aerospace to sustainable energy systems. This conference is not only a collection of cutting-edge knowledge, but also a catalyst for innovation in the field of materials science.

Initiated in the 1950s by the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne (ICB, UMR 6303 CNRS, University of Burgundy Europe) and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, this conference is held alternately in Poland and France.
