ICI-IC Course: Innovation, Design, and Engineering – Innovation and Design

National Master of Science Degree Master of Science DNM) in Innovation, Design, and Engineering, with a specialization in Innovation and Design (ICI - IC)

He proposes:

  • To contribute to methodological reflection on innovative design and interaction design
  • To conduct methodological research to optimize the design process (application to industrial projects)
  • Raise awareness of multidisciplinary and collaborative work in the field of design (multidisciplinary teaching team and students working with engineers, designers, and ergonomists).

Campus

Program

Learning outcomes are achieved through a balanced training program that combines theoretical and practical learning sequences, during which students are placed in real academic and industrial settings in order to develop multiple cross-disciplinary skills.

The ICI-IC program is a Master of Science program spanning two semesters

  • First semester (S3): September to February
This semester includes 5 science modules, 1 language module, and 1 long-term research project, for a total of 30 ECTS credits.
  • Second semester (S4): March through September
The second semester is devoted to the Master of Science thesis, Master of Science 6 months and is worth 30 ECTS credits. The internship will take place at a research institution (laboratory or company) in France or abroad.

Assessment method

Each module can be assessed through practical assignments, projects, reports, oral presentations, exams, and the assessment rules are explained at the beginning of the program. Each module is graded on a scale of 0 to 20.

  • For language modules (MLi):
The final grade for each professional/language module must be ≥ 10, and there is no compensation between modules.
  • For science modules (MSi):
The final grade for each science module must be ≥ 10, and there is no compensation between modules.
  • For the long research project (LRP):
The final grade for the LRP must be ≥ 10.
  • For the Master of Science MTI) thesis:
The final grade for the Master of Science thesis Master of Science be ≥ 10.

Make-up exams are held during the second semester.

Career opportunities

Depending on their results and career aspirations, graduates can pursue their professional careers as:

  • PhD student in a field related to design engineering, in academia or industry (CIFRE), with the aim of becoming a recognized expert in the field of interactive design.
  • Engineer/researcher in R&D in large companies or start-ups, in many sectors (industry, construction, services, consulting, etc.) and fields (automotive, aerospace, healthcare, IoT, etc.) in the field of interactive design.
