On October 8, 2025, science will be celebrated at LEM3 for the 2025 edition of the Fête de la Science with a crazy conference!

Martensite Wars: a galactic theater conference between science and science fiction

October 8, 6:30 p.m., UFR MIM

Taking the form of a play combining humor, science, and science fiction, the conference features historical and futuristic characters played by the scientists themselves. In a universe loosely based on Star Wars, viewers will be transported to a distant future where martensite—a material with extraordinary properties—has become a strategic intergalactic issue. Costumes, lighting effects, sound effects, and live experiments will punctuate this theatrical odyssey, where the laws of physics meet the legends of the cosmos. The goal: to bring science to life in a spectacular and accessible way, while highlighting the expertise and creativity of LEM3 researchers.
