Representatives from the school's various laboratories came to meet with start-ups from the Arts et Métiers incubator Arts et Métiers Paris Arts et Métiers

Bringing start-ups and research together

The third edition of Boost Start-up took place on July 3 in the library of the Paris campus. The event, which aims to build bridges between academic research and start-ups incubated at Arts et Métiers , welcomed representatives from laboratories across the country this year.

This meeting allows innovative start-ups to benefit from the scientific expertise ofArts et Métiers researchers and find the right research teams to overcome the technological barriers that are holding back the development of their projects.

A half-day full of encounters

An informal discussion session, during which each start-up was able to present its solution, its progress, and, above all, its difficulties. Participants were able to talk with researchers, as well as members of the Deputy General Management for Research and Innovation and AMVALOR, receive advice, and discover the scope of action of their interlocutors.

Contacts were made throughout the event, strengthening synergies between start-ups, laboratories, and the institution's research ecosystem.

Seven start-ups were present:

Vestaclim, which offers an ingenious chimney system that cools homes and could benefit from the expertise of the Lille Fluid Mechanics Laboratory (LMFL) to perfect the heat exchanger in its solution
Park'In, whose next step is to develop an app to accompany its parking and charging locations for scooters
Juvénile, which is considering how to effectively mineralize the water in its B2B fountain solution and the ergonomics of its containers
Green & Circular, which is looking for a platform to test whether its system that makes vans accessible to wheelchair users meets safety standards
Klaroushka, which recycles production waste using an innovative material developed in-house called Polyzzo, could benefit from PIMM's advice on standardizing the material and characterizing its defects
Flexus, which helps companies consume at the right time and seeks to understand the electrical behavior of buildings
Pilion, for whom it would be interesting to consider the behavior of the materials used in their ultra-fast scaffolding with the Product Design and Innovation Laboratory

Key figures for the incubator

  • Over 10 years in business
  • More than 120 companies created
  • Over 700 jobs created
  • 78% of companies in operation
  • The incubator has been awarded the "Paris Innovation Fund" label by the City of Paris, Office of Innovation, Attractiveness, Prospective Paris 2030, and Resilience, and the "Innov'up Incubation" label by the Île-de-France Region.
