AI has multiple objectives: improving efficiency, assisting decision-making, accelerating innovation, and personalizing services. But its challenges go far beyond the technological realm. They touch on ethics (algorithmic bias, privacy), the impact on employment, and issues of technological sovereignty.
Its limitations? There are still many: opaque models, dependence on data, high energy consumption, and a lack of human "common sense." AI is a powerful tool, but one that requires rigor and responsibility in its development and use.

Training Arts et Métiers engineers Arts et Métiers the help of AI
At Arts et Métiers, training is evolving to incorporate these challenges. For example, the institution, together with its subsidiary AMTalents, which is responsible for continuing education, offers a specialization program in Digital Industry and Artificial Intelligence. Designed in collaboration with DSTI, it aims to train engineers capable of applying AI to real-world business challenges: mastering AI tools and applications to industrial problems, while maintaining a critical perspective on their implications.
Industrial AI is the subject of numerous research projects at the institution. The results of this research are gradually being integrated into the Evolutives Learning Factories (ELF). The ELF aims to transform the Arts et Métiers campuses Arts et Métiers Industry 4.0 training factories, serving as incubators for talent by bringing together education and industry, technical and scientific skills. With this in mind, AI will be used in student training and offered to manufacturers.
Arts et Métiers its staff, offering them the opportunity to take part in training created as part of the CAIRE project, which is aimed at teaching and research staff, technical and administrative staff, and all citizens. The aim of this project is to educate all citizens about the fundamentals, risks, and opportunities of this technology, with a focus on professional applications and environmental impact. Its goal? To spread a critical and ethical culture of artificial intelligence on a large scale.
