For several years now, Professional Student Support has established itself as an essential program on the Angers campus. Dedicated to students in their first to third years, it supports nearly 400 students each year by offering them opportunities to interact with the professional world.
A structured and collaborative program
The EPA is based on the commitment to :
- 15 certified professional coaches
- 100 industry professionals, who devote an average of 4 hours per year to mentoring students
The goal is to give students a better understanding of the demands of the working world and to effectively prepare them for their professional integration.
A day dedicated to mock job interviews
On Friday, January 10, a mock interview session was held on campus. This edition, conducted in collaboration with the campus's Corporate Relations department, involved:
- 60 professionals from various companies
- 5 speakers sharing their experiences of their profession
This initiative aims to raise students' awareness of their professional posture, while allowing them to interact with HR managers, engineers, and industrialists from various sectors. The interviews were conducted in pairs of professionals in order to provide cross-feedback to each student.
Participating companies include: SAFRAN, VINCI ENERGIES, VINCI CONSTRUCTIONS, EQUANS, and SAVENCIA.
Thorough preparation beforehand
To optimize the experience, students benefited from three three-hour preparation sessions, focusing on:
- Building their career plans
- Writing their resume and cover letter
- Pitch training
A strong impact and prospects for 2025
This day gave students a better understanding of what the professional world expects, both in terms of interpersonal skills and technical skills.Â
Feedback from professionals has been very positive, highlighting constructive and enriching exchanges. Claire VACHON, HR Development Manager at Fromagerie Louis Tessier (Savencia Group), says: "I really enjoyed the exchanges with the students, but also with other HR professionals."
Towards enhanced synergy between APE and RE
In an effort to strengthen synergies, the APE and Business Relations departments plan to intensify their collaboration in 2025. The goal? To increase interactions between APE and RE events in order to offer students an even more diverse range of activities.
