A look back at the second edition of the Green Belt training course for students studying Industrial Management at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille

The second edition of the Green Belt training course ended on January 26 for students specializing in Industrial Management. This event, co-organized with XL Groupe (partner of the Industrial Management Chair), enables them to receive the associated certification and thus benefit from solid, high-quality references in Lean Manufacturing when they enter the business world.

THE BEAUTIFUL PART IN PRACTICE

In keeping with the spirit Arts et Métiers, this intensive week once again focused on hands-on learning on the assembly line atEvolutive Learning Factory Lille campus!
Through a case study created for the occasion, students applied the concepts of problem solving, "build in quality," and production flow, while also playing out the essential team-building sequences in workshops.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN AND JUST-IN-TIME PROCUREMENT METHODS

Building on last year's experience, the facilitators—Guillaume Redon (XL Groupe) and Anthony Quenehen (Arts et Métiers)—enriched the content to address the topics of quality management in the supply chain and just-in-time (kanban) procurement methods in situ.
Students who completed their PJE projects onEvolutive Learning Factory alsoEvolutive Learning Factory their developments with the rest of the group. This was an opportunity to understand the benefits of process and product traceability via RFID tags, real-time monitoring, and e-kanbans.

A PIZZA NIGHT TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE

The work was intense throughout the week, punctuated by more informal exchanges between students and trainers. Regular deliveries of candy helped keep everyone's brains sufficiently fueled with glucose. A pizza night also provided an opportunity for everyone to relax and unwind together.
For the second year in a row, the week ended with the instructor team losing in the final of the traditional foosball tournament. See you next year to take on all these new challenges!

A MORE THAN POSITIVE REVIEW OF THE WEEK

Anthony Quenehen, Lecturer and researcher: "This week is always a real educational challenge. Guillaume Redon and I deliberately keep the scenario as open as possible and work with what the students come up with to ensure that the fundamentals of the certification are covered. The week is energy-intensive for everyone, students and trainers alike! But what a pleasure it is to engage in continuous dialogue with such an engaging, motivated, and curious group. This has allowed us to go even further this year in Lean practices, with genuine and shared enthusiasm."

Antoine Trifot, Industrial Management student on a professional training contract at Toyota: "This certification is fully in line with the dynamic approachArts et Métiers, which, beyond providing us with theoretical knowledge, allows us to take a practical approach through the many practical work sessions offered. This certification week is an opportunity to rediscover and, above all, apply problem-solving methods, processes, and management methods to a practical case study in order to improve the performance of a production line. It also allows us to set up breakthrough projects, which are then put into practice on the Arts et Métiers line."
