An unforgettable day at the historic Arts et Métiers center Arts et Métiers Liancourt Farm!

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, first-year students in the specialized engineering program at the Paris campus visited the Liancourt farm, the historic birthplaceArts et Métiers.

During this day, organized and supervised by second- and third-year students, they enjoyed various workshops:

  • a tour of the museum led by Évelyne Dolbet, manager of the Liancourt estate; 
  • a workshop to make a promotional trophy; 
  • a general knowledge game on Arts et Métiers by second-year students; 
  • a capture the flag game organized by the sports department of AIA Paris; 
  • A workshop on the gyroscopic effect, conducted by engineers from the Fondation du Fer au Savoir.  

Strengthening cohesion within the class

This immersive day allowed them to learn more about the history and values of the school and its students, but also to strengthen cohesion within their class.
The event was made possible thanks to the constant support of Evelyne Dolbet and Marie-Pierre Rabineau. They passionately conveyed the historyArts et Métiers a tour of the museum's rooms, presenting historical anecdotes and splendid works of art. The team of volunteers from the Fondation du Fer au Savoir also captivated the students and introduced them to a facet of engineering by presenting the fundamental principle of the gyroscope in a fun way.  

Promoting campus vitality

The 84 first-year students took on the challenge of the day with seriousness and commitment. In total, 115 apprentices in the specialized engineering program promoted the dynamism and commitment of the Paris campus to the Fondation des Arts et Métiers. 
The school administration also participated in the event by approving the project with the FSDIE commission and by making it a regular school day.  

It is with great joy that the alumni are now passing on this project to future classes. They will be able to build on this solid foundation to improve this exceptional day. Thanks to its proximity to the heartArts et Métiers, the Paris campus will be able to contribute to the dynamism and influence of this prestigious site through the various classes that will make this trip to the Montagne farm each year.
