At the start of the academic year, Vinci, a partner of the Lille campus, launched a recruitment campaign to find ambassadors among engineering students. Therence GUIONGO and Thomas VRIELYNCK, both in their second year of the PGE program, were appointed ambassadors after going through various selection stages.
Therence shares his experience with us and tells us about his role.
A first step in the company
"Vinci was the first company I encountered when I arrived at Arts, during our first year of PGE studies on the Lille campus. It is the company that sponsors our class. When I saw the announcement to become a Vinci ambassador, I didn't hesitate to apply. It was an opportunity for me to get to know the company better, and for the students to have an additional link with the partner.
Our role as ambassadors on a daily basis is to communicate with students about the various events organized by or with our partner, to facilitate exchanges, to talk about professional opportunities (in the field of construction and civil engineering, such as internships or job offers), and to put students in touch with Joachim VITAL DURAND (business manager at Vinci Facilities), who is also an architect (CL207).
To this end, we are in regular contact with him and his HR department to disseminate news about the group.
In addition, we also collect feedback from students on the various events and activities organized. They were happy to have opportunities that met their expectations and to have direct contact with Vinci.
Benefits
Of course, as ambassadors, we also have some advantages! For example, during our visit to Joachim's company, we were able to benefit from his professional network of Vinci business leaders around the world. He also introduced us to another Gadz and talked about possible in-house training opportunities for new employees.
For my part, it's a sector that appeals to me, and it makes me want to join them."
