As part of the Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications d’Excellence CaMéX-IA and in partnership with the Club de Metz Eurométropole, former Apple and Texas Instruments global director Marco Landi gave a lecture on Wednesday, January 31, 2023, at the Metz campus, Totem of CaMéX-IA.

Passionate about artificial intelligence, Marco Landi shared the highlights of his career during this conference, including a synopsis of his book "Connections – From Tuscany to Apple: Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Mankind," his meeting with Steve Jobs, his founding of the EuropIA Institute, and, above all, his opinion on the subject. He also had the opportunity to talk with members of the CaMéX-IAnetwork, including students fromArts et Métiers, abouttheir questions on digital technology.

Who is Marco Landi?

Wanting to put his passion to good use, Marco Landi wrote a thesis on digital technology during his studies at the University of Bologna in Italy. He then worked for a large telecommunications company before being spotted by the CEO of Texas Instruments. He then spent 24 years of his career at the helm of Texas Instruments, first in Italy, then in Europe and finally in Asia, before becoming Apple's global director. Today, Marco Landi remains active in the field of artificial intelligence as president of the EuropIA Institute, located in Sophia Antipolis.

And what about artificial intelligence today?

According to Marco Landi, all the necessary work on artificial intelligence has been done. It is now time for the younger generation, including Arts et Métiers engineering students, to use new technologies effectively
