Welcomed by Smaïne Kouidri, Director of the Paris campus, the mayor of the 13th arrondissement, accompanied by part of his team, first visited some of the cutting-edge facilities at theGeorges Charpak Institute of Human Biomechanics (IBHGC), the Processes and Engineering in Mechanics and Materials (PIMM), and the 4.0 Platform of the Product Design and Innovation Laboratory (LCPI) and the start-up OMNI, incubated on the Paris campus.

At IBHGC, he was able to try out a virtual reality headset that immersed him in controlled cognitive environments, discover the digitized factory of the LCPI's Platform 4.0, and, with the start-up OMNI, witness the performance of a wheelchair attached to an electric scooter and powered by an innovative attachment. the globetrotter, and discover the innovative Selective Laser Manufacturing process at PIMM, as well as the environmentally friendly packaging project, MyPack.

A campus that is part of the Paris region ecosystem

Smaïne Kouidri presented the mayor of the 13th arrondissement with a project to renovate the Paris campus in order to increase its appeal in Paris and the Île-de-France region by incorporating environmental requirements and linking it to technological platforms and the talents of its start-ups. A forum for discussing and sharing the common concerns of the City of Paris and the School took place in order to better promote this hub of development and innovation (4.0, digital twins, etc.) in the 13th arrondissement, which remains an asset for Paris.

The synergies created by the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Paris between research, training, and innovation (notably with the Paris campus incubator) are conducive to fostering a dynamic ecosystem that could open up further to the city, provided that the renovated premises are adapted to better meet the challenges of tomorrow.
