The first edition of the Arts et Métiers Ceremony Arts et Métiers Energy Transition (CAMTE) was broadcast live on March 3 from the Hôtel des Arts et Métiers.
Five prizes were awarded to student projects on the theme of energy transition at the first edition of the Arts et Métiers Ceremony Arts et Métiers Energy Transition (CAMTE). The event, organized bythe Student Union, brought together students, experts, politicians, and business leaders, and attracted nearly 3,500 views.
The "call for projects" awards recognized the best projects developed at the eight Arts et Métiers campuses Arts et Métiers the theme "How can I decarbonize my campus?" in three categories: mobility, buildings, and industrial processes.
The winners are:
- on the Mobility axis: "Decarbonizing my campus" with Gaëtan Martin, Théo Regnier, Jean-Briac Foulonneau, and Romain Baley;
- on the Building axis: "Low-carbon deconstruction" with Yanis Bouyahi, Corentin Bernard, Logan Cloarec, and Vincent Brient;
- on the Industrial Process axis: "Greener Workshop" with Juliette Langrognet, Raphael Julien-Leferrière, Lucas Stoppa, Alice Juan.
A "special jury mention" category was added to the list of awards for the project "Hydrogen, a breath of decarbonization" with Louis Fourcade, Thomas Chapau, Rapaël Lopez, and Mayeul de Lacoste Lareymondie.
In addition, the "student initiative" prize, intended for students from other schools and higher education institutions, was awarded to a project contributing to the decarbonization of society. The winners are Bérénice Bass and Cindy Guichar (ESITC Caen) for their project "Passe à Poissons" (Fish Pass).
A total of €20,000 in prize money was awarded to the winners thanks to the support of the Foundation and the school.
This first Arts et Métiers Ceremony Arts et Métiers Energy Transition also provided an opportunity for discussions with high-level speakers during two round tables:
- “Climate crisis: will technology save us?”with Valérie Masson-Delmotte, Director of Research at the CEA, Co-Chair of the IPCC Working Group and member of the High Council for Climate; Philippe Bihouix, specialist in resource depletion and CEO ofAREP; Béatrice Kosowski, Presidentof IBM France.
- “Businesses facing the energy transition: what role for tomorrow’s engineers?” with Fabrice Bonnifet, Director of Sustainable Development, QSE at the Bouygues Group, President of the C3D College of Sustainable Development Directors, and Administrator of The Shift Project think tank ; Brigitte Courtehoux, member of the Stellantis Executive Committee and Director of the Free2Move brand; Laurent Champaney, CEO ofArts et Métiers Vice President of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles
