Design methodologies are based on knowledge models, which increasingly rely on digital technology. The RNC is therefore working in several areas: modeling and simulation (of the multi-physical behavior of products, manufacturing processes, and production systems); modeling of design processes and interoperability; geometric modeling; interaction with models (virtual reality, augmented reality); and decision support for product design.
The development of methodologies and tools aims to meet the needs of many sectors of activity: transportation, energy (production and storage), manufacturing (conventional or additive), sustainable design (recycling, risk control, etc.).
The network brings together 20 researchers and engineers from several Arts et Métiers laboratories Arts et Métiers I2M, IRENav, LAMPA, LCFC, LE2I, and LISPEN.
